Where is your line?

Where is your line?

Where is it that you go from being a warm and loving human being to becoming a mercenary in search of retribution?
Is it when someone cuts you off on the freeway, when someone lies to you, when you are left to deal with someone else's mistake, when someone hurts those who are innocent and the vulnerable?

How we respond when things are not the way we wish them to be directly reflects the degree to which we have grown and matured as human beings. Where ever we have drawn lines inside and said, "Not this.  I will be virtuous until someone does this." are the places where we have decided to abandon our most essential nature and have exchanged our own integrity for a self-oriented position. In this way we trade open-heartedness for a sense of strength and control. We trade love for righteousness.

It is this self-oriented position that is the real source of conflict and what many refer to as evil.  In reality there are no, ‘good people’, nor are there ‘bad people’.  There is, however, a difference between being true to our most essential nature or not.

When we’re open within, and honest, we see beyond what is most easily related to through our perceptions.  We then access insight and authentic understanding. When we’re closed our seeing becomes narrow and rigid.  Then real insight is not available to us.

So the question is... where is your line?  And… are you ready to go beyond that line for the sake of what is real and true in you, and to find out who you are and what you are capable of.
